UNDER GOD
She's walking down the hall to her next class,
Minding her business till someone walks past,
Its happened before - a bleeding lip, a black eye,
Sometimes its all she can do to not give in and cry.
Kids out on the field, someone makes a wrong play,
He tries to make apologies, but they still make him pay,
Its happened before - a bleeding lip, a black eye,
When his parents want to know, what he tells them is a lie.
People out on the street, fighting out their wars,
They can't think straight, just see red, seem to ignore,
They are right, can't be wrong,
And the fight goes on and on and on.
Nations rage in this troubled age,
While the innocent pay the price,
Society is founded on a hollow base,
Slowly crumbling away,
Seems we have forgotten,
Slowly become besotted,
With our own take on why we are here,
Handed down generation after generation,
Year after year.
We are desperately in need,
To put ourselves under God,
Not alter what has been established,
Or cater to our own rules and laws,
Only then will all people unite as one,
Until then, we'll suffer the damage already done,
We are desperately in need,
To put ourselves under God.
